(Dairy Science) Age: Around 30 Years Industry: Dairy / Food Processing / FMCG Role: In-charge of overall shift operations with extended responsibility in planning, compliance, and team performance Experience Required: Minimum 35 years in production or manufacturing, preferably in the dairy industry Key Experience & Skill Set: Proven experience in managing end-to-end production operations, ideally in dairy or food processing units. In-depth knowledge of dairy processing, pasteurization, packaging, and cold chain logistics. Capable of managing large production teams and coordinating cross-functional activities independently. Strong leadership and decision-making skills with a focus on productivity and process optimization. Proficient in production planning, monitoring KPIs, and preparing shift performance reports. Familiar with food safety certifications and compliance standards (FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, ISO). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interface with senior management, QA, maintenance, and supply chain. Comfortable working in rotational shifts with accountability for shift-level outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning & Execution: Develop and execute shift-wise production schedules based on plant targets and customer demand. Ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and resources. Shift Management: Take complete charge of production shifts, ensuring process adherence, quality standards, and timely output. Handle shift-wise escalations, downtime analysis, and corrective actions. Manpower Supervision: Manage production staff including executives, operators, and support teams. Allocate duties, monitor attendance and discipline, and build a productive work environment. Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in yield, efficiency, and line speed. Identify areas of wastage, suggest improvements, and support cost-saving projects. Quality & Compliance: Ensure production processes adhere to quality norms and food safety standards. Coordinate with QA/QC for in-process checks, sampling, and corrective actions. Coordination with Departments: Liaise with maintenance for timely equipment servicing and breakdown resolution. Interface with the supply chain for raw material coordination and with the dispatch team for delivery readiness. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain production logs, shift-wise reports, process deviation reports, and equipment performance records. Submit daily MIS to the Production Manager. Training & Development: Identify skill gaps within the shift team and provide on-the-job training or recommend external programs. Ensure operators are trained in SOPs and safety protocols. Safety & Hygiene Compliance: Ensure compliance with plant safety guidelines and hygiene standards. Conduct routine checks and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
