Key Responsibilities:

• Sourcing & Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors for chemical-grade packaging materials such as HDPE drums, MS barrels, IBC tanks, cartons, etc

  • Negotiate rates, credit terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to optimize cost and maintain supply continuity.

• Quality & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all packaging materials meet chemical compatibility, UN certification (for hazardous chemicals), and environmental safety standards.

  • Work closely with QA/QC and EHS teams to validate packaging samples and resolve quality issues.

• Inventory & Planning

  • Forecast packaging material requirements based on monthly production schedules and new product introductions.

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid production delays or excess stock.

• Documentation & SOP Adherence

  • Maintain up-to-date records of purchase orders, certifications (e.g., UN, ISI), delivery notes, and supplier agreements.

  • Ensure packing material vendors provide Material Test Certificates (MTC) and adhere to GHS labeling guidelines.

• Cost Optimization & Innovation

  • Explore alternative packaging solutions that reduce cost without compromising safety or compliance.

  • Collaborate with sustainability and R&D teams to evaluate eco-friendly or recyclable packaging options in line with EPR obligations.

• Cross-functional Coordination

  • Liaise with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability and proper handling of packaging materials.

  • Coordinate with finance for timely invoice processing and vendor payment.

• Vendor Performance Monitoring

  • Track vendor delivery timelines, rejection rates, and responsiveness.

  • Maintain a performance dashboard and take corrective actions for under performing vendors.
