Principal Engineer - Energy and Microclimate Advisory

You will be responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently to deliver energy-efficient and sustainable consulting services to clients. Your main tasks will include conducting detailed building energy modeling simulations using industry-specific software for evaluating and optimizing building energy performance, including HVAC systems, lighting, solar shading, and renewable energy options. Additionally, you will analyze building physics data, such as thermal and indoor environmental quality measurements, to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for enhanced building performance. Your role will also involve preparing high-quality technical reports, presentations, and recommendations to effectively communicate findings and proposed strategies to clients and project stakeholders. Furthermore, you will provide expert advice on sustainability best practices, focusing on renewable energy and energy efficiency. In order to excel in this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, building physics, energy engineering, or a related field, with a preference for a master's degree. You are expected to have 10-15 years of strong experience in a similar role, involving building energy modeling, performance simulations, and building physics analysis. Proficiency in industry-specific software, particularly Rhino, Envimet, and IES VE, is mandatory. Moreover, you should possess a strong knowledge of building physics principles, energy codes, and sustainability standards. Experience with energy-efficient design strategies, including expertise in MEP system optimization, renewable energy technologies, natural ventilation, and daylighting, is essential. Familiarity with sustainability certifications such as LEED, WELL, or BREEAM, and their requirements is also desired. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and decision-making ability, coupled with a flexible mindset, will be crucial for success in this role. Previous experience in managing client meetings, presentations, deliverables, report submissions, and resource planning for multiple projects simultaneously will be advantageous.,
