Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Perform
venipuncture and capillary blood collection
procedures accurately and efficiently.
Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of samples.
Handle and transport specimens following
infection control and safety protocols
.
Provide support to patients by explaining procedures and alleviating anxieties.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area and equipment.
Follow guidelines for
biomedical waste disposal
and
infection prevention (PPE)
.
Record and maintain accurate patient information in
Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
or manual logs.
Assist laboratory staff with specimen processing if required.
Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and request replenishments as needed.

Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
