We are seeking a skilled Plumbing & Fire Fighting Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, drafting and coordinating plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of building projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed designs and calculations for plumbing and fire fighting systems for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects. Prepare concept design drawings, schematic diagrams, detailed drawings & specifications Select equipment, fixtures, and materials for plumbing and fire protection systems in line with project requirements and local regulations. Perform hydraulic calculations for water supply, drainage, fire sprinkler, and fire hydrant systems. Coordinate designs with other disciplines (HVAC, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Architects) to ensure integrated solutions. Review and check drawings and documents for accuracy and compliance with applicable codes (e.g., NBC, NFPA, IS codes etc.). Attend design coordination meetings with clients, architects, consultants, and contractors. Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), technical specifications, and tender documentation. Provide technical support during project execution, including responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawings and material submittals. Stay updated with the latest codes, standards, and technological advancements in plumbing and fire fighting systems. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Public Health Engineering, or equivalent. 3-10 years of experience in plumbing and fire fighting design in an MEP consultancy environment. Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage. Strong understanding of Indian and international codes and standards (NBC, IS codes, NFPA, etc.). Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and sizing for piping, pumps, tanks, and fire protection systems. Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver quality work within deadlines. Preferred Skills Experience in sustainable plumbing design, water conservation systems, and green building certification requirements (LEED, IGBC, GRIHA). Working knowledge of fire alarm integration with fire fighting systems. Site experience in installation supervision or commissioning support. Exposure to BIM workflows. Why Join Us?
