Open Blood is India’s first open-source digital blood donation platform. We’re building infrastructure that helps blood banks manage donors, verify records, and send out emergency alerts with ease and speed. Open Blood is backed by Emergent Ventures and gradCapital, and we're already working with hospitals to expand the network. This internship is perfect for you if you care about real-world impact, good design, and large scale infrastructure. It is remote, will last 3-6 months (or more), and is paid. Role: Full Stack Intern Responsibilities • Take ownership in building a Next.js+TS website • Build and maintain internal dashboards (admin, donor records, filters) • Work on our NestJS backend and DB • Work with the rest of the team to make the system usable, fast and effective in blood banks. Skills you'd need: - Next.js and/or Nest.js, TypeScript - Comfortable with remote work and taking initiative Role: React Native Intern Responsibilities Work on our React Native app (we use Expo w/ RN) Build and ship features for both blood banks and their donors. Work closely with backend to move fast Skills you'd need: - React Native, Expo and TypeScript Role: Product Design Intern Responsibilities • Design UI flows for our app and website in Figma • Work on brand visuals, certificates, cards, posters, social posts, etc. • Collaborate with devs to make sure stuff gets built how it should Skills you’d need • Figma (obviously) • An eye for simple, clean, readable design • bonus: logo/identity design, motion graphics, or just general taste Role: Advanced Projects Intern We’re experimenting with having remote nodes installed at blood banks that hold encrypted data and sync with a central server via MQTT/websockets. like github for the blood donation system. Responsibilities Set up and test raspi nodes Write and debug MQTT communication logic Work with encryption, backups, and syncing logic Skills You’d Need Raspberry Pi, Linux CLI, TypeScript MQTT or general socket experience Encryption / networking knowledge Qualifications: We don't have any specific qualifications or requirements.
