Job Description

· To carry out nursing procedures e.g. injections, venepuncture, supra pubic catheters. · Assist with the management of complex patients- palliative care · Implement the planned programmes of nursing care and where appropriate teach and co-ordinate other members of the caring team who may be responsible for implementing specific aspects of the nursing care. · To evaluate the outcomes of care packages on a regular basis. · Ensure all professional/clinical practices are in line with Policies and RGCI&RC Standards. · Ensure appropriate and accurate nursing and medical records are maintained by self · Risk assessments of the clinical settings i.e. the patient’s home for the safety of patients and staff. · Exchanges linen CSSD items & checks all entries of consumables, drug during her shift. · Sends diet sheets, discharge/death files, billing activities, in-patent dairies etc to the relevant department on time. · Visits all patients during her shift and addresses any issues the patient and family may have. · Makes rounds with Doctors · Liaises with other departments during the shift to ensure quality care to patients. · Assist staff in giving general care and help in turning /shifting of patients as and when required.
