Mining Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mining Engineer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and development of mines and mineral extraction operations. This role involves ensuring the safety, sustainability, and efficiency of mining projects while complying with regulatory and environmental guidelines. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mining plans and layouts for surface or underground operations. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analyses for new mining projects. Supervise mine construction, drilling, and blasting activities. Monitor production processes and implement methods to improve efficiency and safety. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Collaborate with geologists, metallurgists, and other engineers to assess geological data. Use specialized software for mine design and modeling (e.g., Surpac, MineSight, Vulcan). Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering or a related field (Masters preferred). Proven experience in mine planning, development, and operations. Strong knowledge of mining equipment and processes. Proficiency in mining software and CAD tools. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Willingness to work in remote or on-site mining locations. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with sustainability practices in mining. Experience with regulatory permitting and compliance processes. Project management certification is a plus.
