Mainframe Lead

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of mainframe applications using

  COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and IMS

  .
• Analyze, design, and implement complex solutions for enhancements, integrations, and legacy modernization projects.
  
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  
• Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to team members.
  
• Troubleshoot production issues, analyze root causes, and implement permanent fixes.
  
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security practices, and compliance requirements.
  
• Coordinate and plan project delivery timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and provide accurate estimates and progress updates.
  

Required Skills

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on development experience with:
  

• COBOL

  (Batch and Online)

• JCL

• CICS

• DB2 / IMS DB

• VSAM

• Strong knowledge of

  mainframe debugging tools

  (e.g., Expeditor, Abend-AID).
• Experience with version control tools like

  Endevor, Changeman, or Panvalet

  .
• Proficient in

  analyzing and optimizing batch jobs

  .
• Excellent understanding of

  SDLC methodologies

  , including Agile and Waterfall.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
