Role & responsibilities: Provide L3-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for switching and routing issues. Design, configure, and maintain enterprise-level Cisco network infrastructures (LAN/WAN). Manage Layer 3 protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, HSRP, VRRP, and MPLS. Conduct proactive network performance monitoring, optimization, and capacity planning. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors during network outages or planned changes. Perform configuration backups, software upgrades, and patch management. Maintain accurate network documentation (topology diagrams, IP schemas, device inventory). Participate in network-related projects such as migrations, redesigns, and new deployments. Ensure compliance with security and operational policies (NAC, ACLs, AAA, SNMP, etc.). Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance for escalated incidents. Preferred candidate profile: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. Certifications: CCNP (Enterprise or R&S) required; CCIE is a strong plus. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching in a large enterprise. In-depth understanding of L2/L3 network protocols and Cisco hardware (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR). Experience with change management, incident response, and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work under pressure in 24/7 environments (on-call rotation may apply).
