Graduate Engineer Trainee( Electrical and Electronics Engineering)

Role & responsibilities

Understanding project requirements and completing all duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Shadowing senior staff members, asking questions, and assisting wherever possible.

Raising concerns and making suggestions for improvement where appropriate.

Conducting research and traveling to sites.

Observing health and safety regulations at all times.

Participating in meetings and attending workshops, and other training initiatives.

Analysing data and writing reports according to specifications.

Taking notes and sharing your findings with your supervisor and other relevant stakeholders.

Establishing professional relationships with staff.

Maintaining a high degree of professionalism and diligence.

Preferred candidate profile

• A bachelors degree in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering discipline is a minimum requirement. However, priority will be given to those who have Master’s degrees in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering discipline.
• Previous experience in a technical field would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Superb time management and professionalism.
• Design calculation software knowledge, such as ASPEN, SINCAL, CTDIm, ETAP, CYME, SKM, Transient Fault Analyses
• Auto CAD
• Protection IED’s Software Knowledge
• Manual Calculation using MS Office
• DC /AC System Design knowledge
• Design Knowledge of all equipment such as switchgear, Power/auxiliary Transformers, Generator, DC Systems, Cable, Overhead Line, CT/VT , Generator/NER
• Knowledge of programming languages is an additional advantage
• Load flow/Short circuit calculation
• Knowledge of relays, Substation Control and Monitoring Systems, Fault Monitoring Systems,
• Knowledge of International Standards such as IEC, IEEE, BS, etc.
• Knowledge in Cyber Security, IEC 61850
• Membership with IET/IEEE is an additional advantage
• A growth mindset and willingness to accept criticism.
