As an engineer at Valuebound, you will be part of a team dedicated to assisting mid-market and enterprise brands in transforming complex ideas into durable digital platforms. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and deploy high-performance web interfaces for Drupal, WordPress, and custom PHP products. This entails overseeing all aspects from component design to the final production deployment. Specifically, your role will involve: - Creating reusable React/Next.js components that interact with JSON:API or GraphQL from various back ends. - Crafting and refining Twig/PHP theme layers while maintaining a balance between traditional theming and headless builds. - Focusing on performance and accessibility by targeting Lighthouse 90+, WCAG 2.2 AA standards. - Implementing automation across the development process using tools such as Docker/ddev for local environments, GitHub Actions/Jenkins for CI/CD, and hosting platforms like Pantheon/Acquia or AWS. - Participating in bug hunting, writing tests using Jest/RTL/Cypress, and ensuring post-release follow-up. - Conducting code reviews, guiding junior team members, and leading internal technical sessions. Your proficiency should include: - Front End technologies such as React 18 with TypeScript, Next.js for server-side rendering, ES 2022, and build tools like Webpack/Vite. - Styling methodologies like CSS Grid/Flexbox, SCSS/LESS, and design-token theming. - Drupal expertise in theming and site-building for versions 9/10, utilizing Composer, Drush, and managing configurations; familiarity with security patching. - Experience in WordPress/PHP theming, encompassing both block and classic approaches, understanding plugin/module patterns, and proficiency in PHP 8.x. - Practical knowledge in DevOps practices including Docker-compose/ddev, Git for version control, CI/CD pipelines setup, with basic exposure to Kubernetes or serverless architecture being advantageous. Additional skills that would be considered advantageous include: - Familiarity with tools like Storybook and performance tracing tools like Web Vitals and New Relic. - Exposure to SaaS/product front-end development beyond CMS platforms. - Experience in conducting accessibility audits or contributing to open-source accessibility patches. - Involvement in contributions to Drupal.org, with the ability to share your username or merge request details.
