Firewall Engineer

Role: Load balancer

Location: Bangalore / Hyderabad

Minimum 5+ years of experience in F5 Load balancing technologies (GTM, LTM, ASM, APM, AFM).

Responsibilities:

• Build, test, and deploy Load Balancer & WAF based security solutions.

• Coordinate and collaborate across teams to ensure end-to-end project delivery.

• Adhere to JPMC Change Management processes.

• Update documentation and tools as required.

Technical Skills:

• 5+ years of network design and implementation experience within a large enterprise environment.

• 5+ years of experience in F5 Load balancing technologies (GTM, LTM, ASM, APM, AFM).

• 5+ years of experience with Cisco networking technologies (routing/switching).

• 5+ years of experience with firewall products and technologies.

• Experience with forward or reverse proxy technologies is a plus.

• Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming/scripting languages: Python, Unix.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication.

• Strong work ethic with a results-oriented mindset.

• Ability to collaborate with different roles and different levels across different teams to achieve common goals.

• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills in a large enterprise environment.

• F5 certifications are preferred but not required; equivalent experience is acceptable.

Process Skills:

• Install, configure, maintain, and decommission Load Balancers and WAFs.

• Working knowledge of Hardware Appliance and Virtual Load Balancers in hybrid public cloud environments.

• Working knowledge of BGP/OSPF routing protocols.

• Ability to analyze network traffic on load balancers and identify connectivity drops along the network path.

• Ensure the configuration of rules is as per security standards.

• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.

• Implement and enforce security policies on Load Balancers and WAFs.

• Perform regular software and security updates, migrations.

• Administer load balancers and virtual private networks (VPNs).

• Troubleshoot technical issues related to Load Balancers and WAFs.

• Participate in security audits and risk assessments.

• Develop and maintain documentation for load balancer policies and procedures.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies.

• Deploy, configure, and maintain security systems.

• Analyze and resolve technical issues related to Load Balancers and WAFs.

• Design and implement security solutions to secure enterprise networks.

• Configure and manage Load Balancer policies and controls via Management servers.

• Monitor network activity and enforce strong policies.

• Respond to security incidents and investigate potential security breaches.

• Provide technical support and troubleshoot Load Balancer issues.

• Mentor junior team members and assist with their technical development.

• Flexible to work in off hours/weekends.
