Job Description

Job Summary:

DB2 Systems Programmer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain

    DB2 for z/OS

    databases.
  • Perform

    performance tuning

    and optimization of DB2 subsystems.
  • Manage

    database security, access control, and encryption

    .
  • Conduct

    backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning

    .
  • Troubleshoot and resolve

    DB2-related system issues

    .
  • Collaborate with

    application developers

    to optimize database performance.
  • Implement

    patches, upgrades, and fixes

    for DB2 environments.
  • Monitor

    system health and resource utilization

    .
  • Ensure compliance with

    industry standards and security policies

    .
  • Document

    procedures, configurations, and best practices

    .

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years

    of experience in

    DB2 systems programming

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    IBM z/OS, and DB2 utilities

    .
  • Experience with queries and

    performance tuning and optimization

    .
  • Familiarity with

    JCL, REXX, and CLIST scripting

    .
  • Excellent

    problem-solving and analytical skills

    .
  • Strong

    communication and documentation abilities

    .

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications

    in DB2 admin or IBM related.
  • Experience with

    DB2 data sharing and high-availability environments

    .
  • Knowledge of

    ITIL processes and incident response procedures

    .
