Role & responsibilities Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer with expertise in both Power BI and Business Objects (BOBJ) to join our team on a one-year contract basis. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in BI development and data visualization. Location Primary Locations: Kolkata, Bangalore, or Gurgaon Work Mode: [Specify - On-site/Hybrid/Remote] Contract Details Duration: 12 months Experience Required: 3-5 years Primary Skills Required Power BI Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Mobile Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating calculated columns and measures Knowledge of Power Query for data transformation and cleansing Ability to create interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations Understanding of Power BI architecture, security, and administration Experience with Power BI gateways and data refresh scheduling Business Objects (BOBJ) Hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects suite including: Web Intelligence (WebI) for report development Universe Designer for semantic layer creation Information Design Tool (IDT) Crystal Reports for pixel-perfect reporting Knowledge of BOBJ architecture and administration Experience with hierarchies, variables, and advanced reporting features Technical Skills Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation Experience with data modeling and ETL processes Knowledge of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) Understanding of data warehousing concepts Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting Added Advantage Snowflake: Experience with Snowflake cloud data platform including: Data loading and unloading SQL optimization in Snowflake environment Understanding of Snowflake architecture and features Integration experience with BI tools and Snowflake Additional Preferred Skills Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, QlikView, etc.) Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies Cloud platforms experience (Azure, AWS, GCP) Data governance and security best practices Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Create complex reports and universes in Business Objects Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements Optimize report performance and ensure data accuracy Implement data security and access controls Troubleshoot and resolve BI-related issues Document technical specifications and user guides Participate in data migration and system integration projects Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 3-5 years of proven experience in BI development Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Experience in client-facing roles preferred Preferred candidate profile
