Design blast patterns considering strata conditions, bench height, burden, spacing, and desired fragmentation. Ensure correct charging and stemming of blast holes as per standard procedures. Monitor and control blast-induced effects like vibration, fly rock, and air overpressure. Ensure that explosives are stored in approved magazines and that daily usage is tracked properly. Maintain inventory records for explosives, detonators, and accessories. Enforce blasting time signals (Warning, Blasting, and All-Clear). Set up and monitor safety exclusion zones around blast sites. Ensure all personnel are at a safe distance or under cover before blasting. Use and ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) .
