Assistant Manager - Melting

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering; Minimum 10 years in Iron foundry with supervisory experience; Strong communication and leadership skills. Must have 5 to 6 years experience in Melting.

• Lead melting and pouring functions; Plan and monitor operations; Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all melting and pouring functions with a strong focus on communication and team alignment.

Plan, coordinate, and monitor melting operations to meet production targets and maintain high safety and quality standards.

Ensure effective utilization and operational readiness of all melting equipment and production resources.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing, TPM, and OEE principles.

Implement and maintain work instructions, safety protocols, and metallurgical control procedures.

Foster clear and open communication within the team and with other departments to ensure smooth workflows.

Promote a safe and organized work environment in line with 5S principles and national safety regulations.

Key Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 9 years of experience in a foundry, including 23 years in a supervisory/team leader role.

Hands-on experience with melting processes and foundry operations.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical and operational information across all levels.

Demonstrated leadership and people management skills with a focus on team development and motivation.

Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, quality assurance, and process optimization.

Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Ability to work in a cross-functional, multicultural environment.

Working proficiency in English (written and spoken) and Tamil (Spoken)
