About the Role

Studio Underground is a dynamic production house creating ad films, documentaries, and digital content. We are seeking a dedicated and technically sound Assistant Cinematographer to support our Director of Photography (DOP) in executing the visual style and technical aspects of our shoots.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the DOP in setting up and operating camera equipment.
• Help with lens changes, focus pulling, rigging, and camera movements.
• Coordinate with the lighting and grip teams to execute the visual plan.
• Ensure all camera and support gear is maintained and handled properly.
• Manage data wrangling and media backups on set (if required).
• Assist with shot continuity, framing, and on-set monitoring.
• Stay alert to troubleshoot any technical issues with camera gear.
• Maintain a smooth workflow between departments during shoots.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of professional camera systems (Canon, Sony, Blackmagic, RED, etc.).
• Understanding of camera operations, lenses, and support equipment.
• Ability to work long hours and adapt to fast-paced shooting environments.
• Strong team player with good communication and organizational skills.
• Eagerness to learn and take feedback positively.
• Willingness to travel and work on-location shoots.

Preferred Skills

• Experience using gimbals, sliders, and other camera support tools.
• Familiarity with lighting equipment and on-set protocols.
• Knowledge of file formats, codecs, and basic post-production workflows.
• Passion for visual storytelling and cinematography.
