Appian Developer (7+ Years Experience)

We are seeking a highly experienced Appian Developer with 7+ years of software development expertise, including extensive hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing scalable business process management (BPM) solutions using the Appian low-code platform. The ideal candidate will lead complex Appian projects, provide technical guidance, and collaborate closely with business and technical teams to deliver robust, integrated applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of Appian applications, including process models, SAIL interfaces, business rules, and integrations with external systems using REST, SOAP, and other web services.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mid-level and junior developers, ensuring adherence to Appian best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into efficient Appian workflows and solutions.
• Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems and custom plugins using Java and Appians integration capabilities.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of Appian applications to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test cases, and deployment guides.
• Participate actively in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, reviews, and continuous integration/delivery.
• Estimate and scope Appian development tasks and projects accurately.
• Stay updated with the latest Appian platform features, including AI capabilities, data fabric, and GenAI plugins, to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience with at least 4+ years focused on Appian platform development.
• Strong expertise in Appian components such as Process Models, SAIL interfaces, Expression Rules, Records, Reports, and CDT usage.
• Experience with Appian integrations using REST, SOAP, JDBC, and custom plugins.
• Proficiency in Java, SQL, and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for extending Appian applications.
• Experience with database design, query optimization, and relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Appian certifications such as Appian Certified Associate Developer, Designer, or Level 2 are highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology and tools like JIRA.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience leading Appian development teams and providing technical guidance.
• Knowledge of Appian AI features such as Email Classification, Document Classification, and Prompt Builder.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
• Experience with performance tuning, automation testing, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with infrastructure setup for on-premises and cloud-based Appian deployments.
