Title: Data Analyst Nature of position: 3-6 months consultancy contract, 20 hours/week Location: New Delhi Role overview: We are looking for a highly proficient Research Analyst with expertise in R programming to lead data analysis and visualization for public health nutrition research. The role involves working with large datasets and translating complex data into actionable, policy-relevant insights using R. Key Responsibilities: Perform data cleaning, transformation, and analysis using R Develop scripts and workflows for automated data processing and reporting Connect to external data sources, including: (SQL-based databases hosted on servers) Use R to conduct exploratory and inferential data analysis aligned with research objectives Document code, analysis steps, and data workflows for transparency and reuse Build and maintain data dashboards, visualizations, and summary reports using R packages (e.g., ggplot2, plotly) Ensure data quality, validation, and documentation throughout the analysis . Essential Qualifications and Skills: PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Public Health, Biostatistics Minimum 2–4 years of experience working in a data analyst or research analyst role Advanced proficiency in R programming, including data wrangling ( dplyr , tidyr ), visualization, and reporting Experience with connecting R to remote servers and databases (e.g., using DBI , RPostgres ) Experience working with health, nutrition, or development datasets preferred Strong understanding of data cleaning, wrangling, and quality assurance Desirable Skills: Prior experience in working with national or regional nutrition data and research in India Experience with Shiny apps, rmarkdown etc.
