Job Description

A Technical Document Writer, also known as a Technical Writer, is responsible for creating and

maintaining a variety of technical documents that communicate complex and technical information in a

clear and concise manner. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between subject matter experts and

end-users by translating technical concepts into user-friendly documentation.

Responsibilities:

1. Research and Understanding:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and developers to gather information

and technical specifications.

  • Conduct thorough research to comprehend complex technical concepts, processes, and

products.

  • Independently planning and managing the entire RFP / RFQ/ RFI process end to end and

ensure timely submission.

2. Document Creation:

  • Develop ,Format (or) Desing a wide range of technical documents, including Bid

Submission Document , Proposal Documents and technical reports.

  • Coordinating and facilitating proposal review meetings, final proposal production, and

baseline content.

  • Use industry-standard authoring tools and software to create documents efficiently.
  • Document Template Management

3. Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with onshore/offshore/internal/external teams to build comprehensive

technical solutions for RFP / RFQ/ RFI etc.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that documentation aligns with

product development timelines and goals.

4. Audience Analysis:

  • Analyze the target audience's needs, background, and familiarity with technical concepts

to tailor the documentation for different user groups.

5. Clarity and Simplicity:

  • Write content in a clear, concise, and jargon-free manner to make it accessible to non

technical users.

  • Create diagrams, charts, and illustrations to aid in understanding complex concepts.

6. Document Organization:

  • Organize content logically and maintain a consistent document structure for easy

navigation.

  • Use headings, tables of contents, and indices to help users find relevant information

quickly.

7. Version Control

  • Keep documentation up to date, reflecting changes in technology or products, and

maintain version control for different document iterations.

8. Quality Assurance

  • Edit and proofread documents to ensure accuracy, coherence, and adherence to industry

standards.

  • Review documents for grammar, spelling, and formatting errors.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years as Technical Document Writer with proposal/presales background

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., English, Technical Communication, Engineering).

• Proven experience as a Technical Document Writer or similar role.

• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.

• Proficiency in using documentation and authoring tools, such as Microsoft Word, Power Point

etc.

• Possess in-depth knowledge of proposal preparation, bid management and collateral

preparation.

• Possess excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Highly skilled in reviewing proposals, providing estimates, and recommending the best

product/Service solutions.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple Documents / Assignments simultaneously.
