SMT Machine Operator

The SMT Pick-and-Place Machine Operator role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining surface mount technology (SMT) equipment to ensure accurate and efficient PCB assembly in an electronics manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for handling components, troubleshooting issues, and upholding quality standards. Your technical skills should include knowledge of SMT pick-and-place machines, reflow soldering processes, PCB assembly, solder paste printing, and SMT component identification. You must be able to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Machine operation skills are essential, including the ability to troubleshoot minor issues, perform preventive maintenance, and calibrate feeders. Familiarity with Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), X-ray inspection systems, and IPC-A-610 standards for PCB assembly quality is required. Experience with SMT programming software and basic understanding of ERP systems for production tracking are necessary. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are crucial. Good communication skills and teamwork are also important in this role. Responsibilities include loading and configuring SMT pick-and-place programs, calibrating feeders, monitoring machine operation, and ensuring proper component placement. You will perform first article inspections, correct misaligned or missing components, and check solder paste application regularly. Identifying errors, troubleshooting machine stoppages, performing routine maintenance, and coordinating major repairs with service technicians are part of your duties as an SMT Pick-and-Place Machine Operator. This is a full-time position with benefits including Provident Fund. The preferred education requirement is a Diploma, and 1 year of total work experience is preferred.
