Senior Manager-Software Engineering

Position Overview:

Senior Manager-Software Engineering plays an important role in leading a globally distributed team that designs, develops, and maintains various products and applications offered by Inseego. There would be 20-25 members in the team including Frontend and Backend Engineers, Business Analysts, Test Engineers and Devops staff.

Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility is to ensure the team works effectively and meets planned milestones.
• Own end-to-end project delivery: planning, tracking, execution and release with outstanding quality within the timeline defined
• Collaborate across global teamsincluding internal engineering, product owners, and external vendors—to align priorities and dependencies.
• Facilitate and steer technical architecture discussions; dive into details to remove impediments and ensure engineering excellence.
• Guide, mentor and develop team members; resolve blockers and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with engineering leaders, product owners and program management.
• Plan sprints/releases, monitor progress, create daily/sprint/release reports, and communicate status and risks to senior leadership.
• Assign work, drive on-time deliveries, and embed best practices in software engineering, agile development and project management.

Experience/Requirements:

• 12+ years of experience contributing to engineering teams
• Minimum 5+ years as a hands-on contributor, and 3+ years of leading teams.
• Strong track record managing SaaS applications and cloud-based technologies.
• Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—with the ability to engage remote, global teams.
• Exceptional time-management, organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Experience managing cross-functional dependencies, distributed teams and external vendors.
• Proven ability in project management, delivering on schedule and to a high standard.
