Job Overview: Department Description and Job Duties: The BDC BTVI team are looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to form an integral part of our BT Radio Optimization team in Bangalore. The team will work closely with the BT RFA, FW, Systems, Characterization teams and colleagues of our team across Geos. The Team plays a pivotal role in supporting development of complex radio/modem features, validation of them for the company's Connectivity products from pre-production samples to commercialization stage and support post commercialization issues. During this time, the team will be the lead source of system-level RF test data, providing target testing and reports to R&D teams across the Qualcomm family to inform them of the latest status of each product's development evolution against Key Performance Metrics. Working within our team provides a unique opportunity to work across the engineering disciplines from high level SOC to low-level hardware. Typical tasks for the successful applicant would include: Development of radio/modem features for BT products. Developing RF test cases in Python. Reviewing RF performance data and reporting performance results to a wide audience. Analysis and support bug fixes during final stages of program to customers. Communication of status/bugs/issues to leads and other teams within the company. Validation, debug of Software and hardware features, testing issues. Working with colleagues to optimize automated test solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to troubleshoot radio issues and finds solutions that are documented and shared with internal cross-functional teams working on similar products. Working with other and leading team members to plan development, testing and maintenance work. Communication is a key part of the role, and it is most suited to someone with excellent interpersonal skills who can be an enthusiastic collaborator with colleagues from both inside and outside the Characterization team. Strong written and verbal communications skills are a must. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an internationally-recognized institution. At least 12 years experience in a relevant engineering role. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an internationally recognized institution. At least 10+ years experience in a relevant engineering role. 2+ years experience with circuit design (e.g., digital, analog, RF). 2+ years experience utilizing schematic capture and circuit simulation software. 2+ years experience with hardware design and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, RF tester etc. 1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports. Educational Requirements: Keywords: RF, Characterization, Coex testing, Validation, Engineer, Lab, Engineering, Testing, Radio, Programming, Automation, Database, Python, C#, Firmware, Bluetooth, BT, UWB. Attributes Required: Good working knowledge of Radio fundamentals, calibration algorithms, especially Bluetooth, WiFi, UWB. Coex testing experience in wireless technologies. Experience of working with automation testing & test scripts creation. Knowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience developing product test harnesses. Knowledge of Issue Tracking tools e.g., JIRA, Microsoft DevOps, etc. A good level of Signal processing and radio communication knowledge. A good understanding of electronic hardware and reading schematics. Knowledge of RF lab equipments including Spectrum analyzer, vector signal generator, combiners, Bluetooth testers etc. Good understanding of RF metrics. Self-motivated, adaptable team player who can mentor junior engineers. Good hands-on experience in testing and debugging complex issues. Comfortable with responsibility and with taking responsibility for their team. Task-orientated and results-driven. A proven track record of successful collaborative working with colleagues, teams across geos and delivering tasks to schedule. Able to work efficiently, flexibly and effectively in a fun, fast-paced dynamic team environment. Proficient in Python programming and C# programming experience preferred.
