Job Description

Job Description: You are a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator who will be joining the technology team. Your main responsibility will be to manage, maintain, and optimize database systems, with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database environments. Your passion for database performance, data integrity, and security will be crucial in supporting mission-critical applications. You must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Administer, maintain, and support all production and non-production Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database instances. - Perform proactive maintenance to ensure system stability and peak performance. - Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify bottlenecks to improve database performance. - Conduct regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning, including regular backup and recovery tests and DR drills. - Manage database security, including user access, roles, and permissions. - Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patching. - Collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient database schemas and stored procedures. - Ensure high availability and reliability of database systems. - Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine DBA tasks. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator. - Proven expertise with all versions of Microsoft SQL Server, including administration, tuning, and maintenance. - Proven expertise with Oracle Database, including administration and performance optimization. - Strong understanding of database security best practices. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with cloud-based database services, specifically AWS RDS. - Familiarity with MySQL database administration. - Proficiency in writing and debugging PL/SQL. - Experience with database monitoring tools. - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional).
