Job Description

  1. Systems Engineering and Integration:
    1. Develop system specifications, requirements, and architecture for embedded software components in the automotive domain (powertrain, infotainment, ADAS, body control, etc.). This would require:
      1. Analyzing customer requirement and translating them into technical requirements/ specifications.
      2. Developing system architecture and designs.
      3. Creating system models.
    2. Ensure all software modules and components meet the required performance, safety, and reliability standards.
      1. Supervise the installation and configuration of hardware and software
    3. Oversee the design, development, and integration of embedded software for automotive systems.
  2. Quality and Compliance:
    1. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, Functional Safety, and cybersecurity standards).
    2. Lead efforts in software verification and validation, including unit testing, integration testing, and system validation.
    3. Promote best practices for coding, documentation, and software quality assurance.
  3. RFQ Management:
    1. Provide accurate estimates for project resources and timelines.
  4. Collaboration & Communication:
    1. Work closely with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure system requirements are met and customer expectations are exceeded.
    2. Provide technical expertise during customer presentations, system reviews, and technical discussions.
    3. Coordinate with other departments (hardware, mechanical, testing, and production) to ensure smooth integration and delivery of embedded software solutions.
    4. Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management.
  5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
    1. Stay up to date with the latest developments in embedded software, automotive industry trends, and emerging technologies (e.g., machine learning, AI, IoT).
    2. Identify and implement improvements to the software development lifecycle and engineering practices.
    3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges during the development lifecycle.
  6. Leadership & Team Development:
    1. Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of embedded software engineers, ensuring high performance, skill development, and fostering a collaborative environment.
    2. Drive technical excellence within the team by establishing coding standards, best practices, and efficient development processes.
    3. Provide technical direction and oversight to ensure that project milestones and deadlines are met.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  2. 8-12 years of experience in automotive software development, with at least 4-6 years in a Systems Engineering and integration role.
  3. Extensive experience in automotive embedded systems (ADAS, BMS, Motor Control, Powertrain, telematics, etc.).
  4. Strong understanding of hardware and software systems.
  5. Experience with System design and architecture.
  6. Knowledge of embedded C programming language, Realtime Operating Systems (RTOS), in AUTOSAR and non-AUTOSAR environment.
  7. Strong understanding of automotive cybersecurity (ISO 21342) and functional safety (ISO 26262).
  8. Experience with communication protocols commonly used in automotive applications (CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet, J1939, SPI, UART, UDS, OBD-II, CCP, XCP, etc.).
  9. Familiarity with software development tools (e.g., version control, debugging, and testing tools).
  10. Proven track record of leading and mentoring technical teams.
  11. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  12. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with safety critical and mission critical systems development.
  2. Familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  3. Experience in Project Management.
  4. Experience with the integration of AI/ML technologies in automotive applications.
  5. Knowledge of automotive connectivity standards (e.g., V2X, 5G).
