Position Overview:

Vidyashilp University is looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Content Writer to join our Communications & Marketing team. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in both long-form and short-form writing and will be passionate about creating compelling content that resonates with our diverse audiencestudents, faculty, alumni, and prospective candidates. The Junior Content Writer will play an integral role in crafting engaging written materials that reflect the university's voice and mission across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Write and edit a variety of content, including but not limited to blog posts, articles, website copy, social media posts, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Produce high-quality long-form content such as research-based articles, whitepapers, and feature stories for the universitys blog, website, and academic publications.
  • Create concise, engaging short-form content for social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram to promote university events, initiatives, and achievements.
  • Support the development of marketing collateral, such as brochures, email campaigns, and event flyers.

Research and Ideation:

  • Conduct research on industry trends, academic developments, and university-related topics to develop original, thought-provoking content.
  • Work closely with the communications team to brainstorm and develop new content ideas that align with Vidyashilp University’s goals and branding.
  • Ensure all content is factually accurate and well-researched, maintaining credibility and authority in every piece.

Brand Voice and Tone:

  • Maintain consistency in the university's brand voice across all content and communication channels, ensuring that the tone is aligned with the university’s mission, vision, and target audience.
  • Collaborate with the content and marketing teams to align content strategy with the university's branding and marketing objectives.

SEO and Content Optimization:

  • Implement SEO best practices in all content writing to improve search engine visibility and online engagement.
  • Optimize content for search engines by researching relevant keywords, using appropriate metadata, and ensuring content is well-structured for readability.

Collaboration and Feedback:

  • Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and other university departments to gather information for content creation and ensure that written materials are aligned with academic and institutional priorities.
  • Revise and update content based on feedback from senior team members and subject matter experts.
  • Contribute to editorial meetings and collaborate with other content creators, designers, and marketing specialists to produce content across multiple channels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in content writing, including both long-form and short-form writing.
  • Strong writing skills with a keen attention to detail, grammar, and syntax.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and content optimization for search engines.
