Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Outcomes:

  1. Act creatively to develop applications and select appropriate technical options. Optimize application development maintenance and performance by employing design patterns and by reusing proven solutions while accounting for others' developmental activities

  2. Develop technical documents such as Functional Design Specifications Deployment documentation

  3. Perform design document reviews peer code reviews and suggest code improvements

  4. A single point of contact for the build and deployment issues and resolve them on time

  5. Learn technology business domain system domain individually and as recommended by the project/account

  6. Contribute to ERP/CRM Practice related activities for example (but not limited to) assembling content for case studies contributing to reusability coordinating internal seminars and conduct knowledge sharing sessions organizing sessions during and participating in hackathons etc.

  7. Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing improving or reconfiguration of existing components.

  8. Identify the problem patterns and improve the technical design of the application/system

  9. Optimizes efficiency cost and quality.

  10. Interpret the application/feature/component design to develop the same in accordance with specifications.

  11. Code debug test and document and communicates product/component/feature development stages.

  12. Validate results with user representatives integrates and commissions the overall solution.

  13. Influence and improve customer satisfaction through things like (but not limited to) offering suggestions for code refactoring and for improvements in business processes completing sprint deliverables ahead of time helping client architects and product owners by way of design suggestions and/or explaining functionality to business stakeholders etc

  14. Influence and improve employee engagement within the project teams

  15. Learn and implement technology newly released features after impact analysis wherever applicable.

  16. Attend industry/technology specific conferences (if applicable) and share the knowledge with the team.

  17. Conduct peer reviews and demand high quality standards from the reviewed deliverables.

  18. Conduct technical assessments for hiring candidates to developer/lead roles.

  19. Mentor and manage a team.

  20. Set goals for self and team in NorthStar. Provide timely feedback to team members

Measures of Outcomes:

  1. Number of applicable technical/domain certifications completed

  2. Adherence to process and standards (coding standards)

  3. Number of mandatory trainings (industry/technology specific trainings UST mandatory trainings) completed

  4. Average time taken for turnaround on production bugs Adherence to schedule / timelines

  5. Number of technical sessions conducted within Practice for the benefit of peers and team members.

  6. Contribution to RFPs and estimations in ERP/CRM Practice.

  7. Number of Leads who were guided and upskilled to lead a technical team.

  8. Number of process streamline documents prepared for ERP/CRM Practice

Outputs Expected:

Requirement:

  1. Understand the requirements/user stories

Estimate:

  1. Create and provide inputs for effort and size estimation and plan resources for projects.

  2. Follow scrum ceremonies.

Configuration and Coding:

Manage knowledge:

Release:

Interface with Customer:

  1. Clarify requirements and provide guidance to development team

  4. Work closely with customer architects to finalize design

Domain relevance:

  1. Advise software developers on design and development of feature / component with deeper understanding of the business problem being addressed for the client.

  2. Learn more about the customer domain and identify opportunities to provide value additions to customers

  3. Complete relevant domain certifications

Manage/Mentoring Team:

  1. Set goals and provide regular feedback to team members.

  2. Understand aspirations of their team members and provide guidance

  3. Ensure team members are upskilled and engaged in the project.

  4. Proactively identify any risks and work with mitigation measures.

  5. Mentor and motivate junior leads to upgrade their technical screening skills.

Knowledge Examples:

  • Functional and technical designing on various ERP/CRM cloud platform features and automations.

    1. Thorough knowledge of coding best practices and understanding the limitations of coding.

    2. Experience using data loading tools.

    3. Experience with production deployment and solving deployment errors.

    4. Experience in integrating ERP/CRM with external systems using SOAP API REST API etc.

    5. Experience working in Agile methodology.

    6. Must have knowledge - HTML/HTML5 CSS XML AJAX Web-services.

    7. Experience with Google APIs JQuery/any other java-script framework ERP/CRM technology specific mobile development analytics etc.

    8. Deep knowledge on architecting solutions and applications on cloud-based infrastructures.

    9. Deep level proficiency in the specialist area.

Additional Comments:

About the Role The Workday Time Tracking will be our "go to" AMS/Implementation lead for all things Workday. They will be expected to build and provide guidance to team members around Workday modules and best practices. You will be involved in all phases of Implementation, AMS Support and Delivery across UST customers and responsible for driving the engagement. We need a self-starter with an entrepreneurial flair and a willingness to wear multiple hats! Together with practice leadership you will help build the UST Global Workday practice The Opportunity and Responsibilities: • Build out and develop our local and global Workday HCM practice covering deployment, augmentation and AMS services • Work directly with clients and UST account teams around requirements gathering/ validation, design, testing and post-production support after deployment • Oversee team workload and serve as an escalation path for urgent or high priority issues and major requests. • Handle day-to-day team operations in identifying and establishing processes, standards, and key metrics as it relates to the roles focus areas. • Build and consolidate internal training materials and/or create pack for new functionality deployment & offering for client • Work effectively with team members to support client satisfaction and success • Work with internal UST product teams to leverage internal capabilities and accelerators What you need: • 7+ years of hand-on Workday. Prior experience in related HRMS (e.g. Oracle, Peoplesoft) in a delivery or AMS/post-production support capacity is an added advantage. • Subject Matter Expertise in at least 2 HCM functional areas (e.g Absence Plan, Time Tracking) • Have worked with and managed offshore Workday teams. Our goal is to build a strong offshore team to support our US/EMEA/Australia customers and teams and this role will have an important part in building this capability. • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, while not losing focus on quality • Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively manage client expectations • Ability to work in a diverse, fast paced environment and effectively collaborate across teams Bonus points if: • You have or were Workday certified in one or more HCM modules • Workday Financials knowledge or support experience What we believe: Were proud to embrace the same values that have shaped UST since the beginning.
