Role Overview:

Windows & VMware Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

Windows Administration:

• Manage and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
• Perform Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy (GPO) configuration and troubleshooting.
• Conduct regular Windows patching, updates, and security compliance checks.

VMware Administration:

• Administer and maintain VMware vCenter, ESXi hosts, and clusters.
• Manage HA, DRS, vMotion, and Storage vMotion operations.
• Perform VMware patching, upgrades, and capacity planning.
• Build new virtual machines as per client requirements and organizational standards.

Operational Excellence:

• Build and configure new physical and virtual servers following standard procedures.
• Perform proactive system monitoring and incident resolution (SolarWinds or similar tools preferred).
• Conduct root cause analysis and prepare RCA documentation when required.
• Prepare and maintain SOPs, asset inventory, and knowledge base documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Network, Storage, and Security) for issue resolution.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong troubleshooting and log analysis skills for both Windows and VMware environments.
• Hands-on experience with patch management and compliance tracking.
• Good understanding of backup and recovery concepts.
• Ability to follow ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
• Willingness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts, including night shifts.
• Quick learner with eagerness to adopt new technologies and tools.

Good to Have:

• Experience with SolarWinds or similar infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell or Python) for automation.
• Exposure to cloud virtualization (Azure/AWS/VMware Cloud) is a plus.
