Description
As an Assistant to the Branch Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of our fast-moving warehouse environment. You will be in charge of managing the warehouse staff on a daily basis, overseeing their activities to meet company targets and objectives while fulfilling customer requirements. It is essential that all warehouse staff comply with health, safety, and standard operating procedures, following the Company's protocols and requirements diligently. Your core job functions will involve supervising various warehouse activities such as daily inspections, loading and unloading operations, on-time deliveries, and overseeing the receiving, storing, and issuing of materials. You will need to plan and allocate workload efficiently, schedule deliveries, and monitor the overall warehouse operations to maintain an organized and efficient workflow. People management will be a crucial aspect of your role, where you will be responsible for staffing levels, team supervision, ensuring the health and safety of coworkers, and maintaining hygiene and security standards within the warehouse premises. Maintaining records accurately, reporting necessary information, and preparing documentation will be part of your routine tasks. This includes inventory controls, stock audits, producing regular reports and statistics, coordinating goods receipt and dispatch, and managing supplier return packaging efficiently. In the event of troubleshooting, you will need to identify errors, implement corrective actions, and ensure that equipment in the warehouse is in working condition through timely servicing. Additionally, you will be expected to uphold the organization's core values such as fostering relationships, prioritizing customer service and satisfaction, promoting teamwork and innovation, and ensuring responsible and result-oriented actions. To be successful in this role, you should have a graduate or diploma qualification with 1 to 2 years of proven experience in handling warehouse activities. Skills and competencies required include awareness in inventory management, data analysis capabilities, problem-solving and organizing skills, time-management proficiency, relationship management abilities, teamwork, attention to detail, and adaptability.
