Job SummarySynechron is seeking an experienced Vision Plus Batch Support Technical Lead to oversee and manage batch processing support within our financial services environment. The role involves monitoring production and UAT batch jobs, coordinating issue resolution, and ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional support teams, optimize batch processes, and contribute to maintaining operational excellence in a dynamic, shift-based environment. This position is pivotal for ensuring stable, efficient, and secure batch processing operations supporting business continuity and client requirements.
Software RequirementsRequired Skills:
- Proficiency in batch support for Mainframe environments (CICS, parser executions, file transmissions)
- Experience with AWS batch processing and cloud-based batch management tools
- Knowledge of system monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation tools applicable to batch processing
- Familiarity with infrastructure support tools and scripting for automation (e.g., shell scripts, JCL, or similar)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Vision Plus banking systems or similar core banking platforms
- Exposure to cloud orchestration and automation tools such as CloudWatch, CloudFormation or similar
- Knowledge of disaster recovery procedures and testing tools
Overall Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate the support for production and UAT batches on Mainframe and AWS platforms, ensuring high availability and timely execution
- Engage with support teams across regions for issue resolution, crisis calls, and incident management
- Track, analyze, and resolve batch failures, abends, and performance issues; implement both short-term fixes and long-term solutions
- Ensure active monitoring, trimming, and optimization of batch jobs, including automation initiatives
- Adhere to SLAs by managing incident escalation, root cause analysis (RCA), and effective communication
- Support pre- and post-batch activities such as parser executions, file transmissions, and pace issues
- Conduct and document POSVET (Positive Verification Test) for releases, disaster recovery, and regions
- Participate in adhoc tasks including account purge, bank migration, IPL support, performance testing, and project testing support
- Maintain documentation on batch processes, procedures, and support activities to ensure operational transparency

Experience Requirements- 6+ years of experience in batch support, mainframe operations, or similar environments within financial services
- Proven track record in supporting and troubleshooting large-scale batch jobs in production and UAT environments

- Leadership experience or support team coordination in a critical, shift-based environment
- Knowledge of disaster recovery testing and implementation procedures
Day-to-Day Activities- Monitor batch jobs and alert systems to ensure scheduled completion and performance standards
- Lead incident response calls, coordinate with technical teams to resolve issues, and document RCA for SLA breaches
- Manage batch job fix deployment, pace management, and transmission troubleshooting
- Test and support release rollouts, ensuring configuration accuracy and region-specific requirements (POSVET)
- Optimize batch workflows and implement automation strategies for repeated manual tasks
- Support adhoc requests such as account purge, migrations, performance testing, and disaster recovery checks
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and propose enhancements for operational efficiency
- Provide on-call support during designated shifts, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness
Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
- Proven experience supporting mainframe batch jobs and cloud-based batch processing (AWS preferred)
- Experience with Vision Plus or similar banking systems is advantageous
- Certifications in cloud platforms, automation, or batch processing are a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in shift-based support
