Job Summary Synechron is seeking an experienced Vision Plus Batch Support Technical Lead to oversee and manage batch processing support within our financial services environment. The role involves monitoring production and UAT batch jobs, coordinating issue resolution, and ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional support teams, optimize batch processes, and contribute to maintaining operational excellence in a dynamic, shift-based environment. This position is pivotal for ensuring stable, efficient, and secure batch processing operations supporting business continuity and client requirements. Software Requirements Required Skills: Proficiency in batch support for Mainframe environments (CICS, parser executions, file transmissions) Experience with AWS batch processing and cloud-based batch management tools Knowledge of system monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation tools applicable to batch processing Familiarity with infrastructure support tools and scripting for automation (e.g., shell scripts, JCL, or similar) Preferred Skills: Experience with Vision Plus banking systems or similar core banking platforms Exposure to cloud orchestration and automation tools such as CloudWatch, CloudFormation or similar Knowledge of disaster recovery procedures and testing tools Overall Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the support for production and UAT batches on Mainframe and AWS platforms, ensuring high availability and timely execution Engage with support teams across regions for issue resolution, crisis calls, and incident management Track, analyze, and resolve batch failures, abends, and performance issues; implement both short-term fixes and long-term solutions Ensure active monitoring, trimming, and optimization of batch jobs, including automation initiatives Adhere to SLAs by managing incident escalation, root cause analysis (RCA), and effective communication Support pre- and post-batch activities such as parser executions, file transmissions, and pace issues Conduct and document POSVET (Positive Verification Test) for releases, disaster recovery, and regions Participate in adhoc tasks including account purge, bank migration, IPL support, performance testing, and project testing support Maintain documentation on batch processes, procedures, and support activities to ensure operational transparency Technical Skills (By Category) Batch Processing & Mainframe Support: Essential: Mainframe batch support, CICS, parser executions, abend resolution Preferred: AWS batch processing tools, cloud automation for batch workflows Scripting & Automation: Shell scripting, JCL, or equivalent for batch management and automation Monitoring & Troubleshooting Tools: System monitoring tools, log analysis, and incident tracking software Cloud Technologies: AWS services related to batch management (e.g., Lambda, Step Functions) preferred Databases & Data Transmission: File transmission protocols, FTP/SFTP, and related tools for secure file exchanges Experience Requirements 6+ years of experience in batch support, mainframe operations, or similar environments within financial services Proven track record in supporting and troubleshooting large-scale batch jobs in production and UAT environments Experience with AWS batch processing and/or cloud-based automation projects Leadership experience or support team coordination in a critical, shift-based environment Knowledge of disaster recovery testing and implementation procedures Day-to-Day Activities Monitor batch jobs and alert systems to ensure scheduled completion and performance standards Lead incident response calls, coordinate with technical teams to resolve issues, and document RCA for SLA breaches Manage batch job fix deployment, pace management, and transmission troubleshooting Test and support release rollouts, ensuring configuration accuracy and region-specific requirements (POSVET) Optimize batch workflows and implement automation strategies for repeated manual tasks Support adhoc requests such as account purge, migrations, performance testing, and disaster recovery checks Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and propose enhancements for operational efficiency Provide on-call support during designated shifts, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields Proven experience supporting mainframe batch jobs and cloud-based batch processing (AWS preferred) Experience with Vision Plus or similar banking systems is advantageous Certifications in cloud platforms, automation, or batch processing are a plus Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in shift-based support Professional Competencies Excellent leadership and team coordination skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities Effective communication skills for crisis calls and stakeholder updates Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a 24x7 environment Flexibility to work in early morning or late evening shifts, with a focus on continuous improvement Team-oriented mindset with the ability to influence and collaborate across regions and functions

As a System Engineer II at Oracle, you will be working directly with Oracle Cerner customers, providing support for various Mainframe Sysplex and LPARs that host hospital environments and regions. Your role will involve managing Batch, Console, and Subsystem activities, monitoring systems, and executing critical tasks like IPLs, clock changes, disaster recovery (DR) exercises, and maintenance events. Additionally, you will be responsible for responding to real-time system alerts (WTORs) and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely issue resolution and adherence to customer SLAs. Your contribution will also include handling ad-hoc production requests, driving continuous process improvements, and supporting automation initiatives. Your responsibilities as a System Engineer II at Oracle will include: - Performing day-to-day maintenance of Mainframe systems for Oracle Cerner Customers, supporting various LPARs/hospitals and working on job scheduling tools. - Executing IPL, Console Monitoring, Clock Change, DR activities, and addressing Batch Job abends within the defined SLAs. - Ensuring timely response to WTORs/outstanding responses and conducting periodic system checks to maintain system availability for customers. - Supporting ad-hoc requests such as Running, Canceling & Holding Production/Test jobs and managing CICS/DB2 subsystems in coordination with Systems Programmers and Application Teams. - Engaging in on-call duties for timely issue mitigation as per the SLAs. - Working in rotational shifts to provide continuous support. Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field. - 3-5 years of experience in troubleshooting skills including JCLs, Spool, CICS/DB2, Tape Issues, and Console Messages. - Proficiency in Mainframe batch and console operations, as well as job scheduling tools like CA7/Control-M/Zeke/OPC/ESP. - Monitoring Operating System thresholds such as memory utilization, CPU utilization, and Spool utilization. - Strong problem-solving abilities for JCL abends and related issues. - Experience in identifying and implementing automation and process improvement opportunities. - Effective documentation, risk identification, and communication skills. - Excellent customer-facing, written, and verbal communication skills. - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
