About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Platform Engineer to manage and optimize our infrastructure, with a primary focus on Ubuntu Linux systems, AWS, and Azure administration. The ideal candidate will play a key role in platform architecture, implementation, and ongoing administration of cloud environments and security solutions. You will also work on integrating security tools such as Devo, Swimlane, and Azure Sentinel, and contribute to release and patch management.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities: • Platform Architecture & Design: Architect, implement, and manage highly available and scalable solutions across Ubuntu, AWS, and Azure environments. • Ubuntu Administration: Full lifecycle management of Ubuntu systemsinstallation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting. • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Administer AWS and Azure environments, ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and integration with platform services. • Release & Patch Management: Manage system patching, upgrades, and release cycles with minimal downtime and robust version control. • Security Tool Integration: Integrate and manage SIEM/SOAR tools such as IBM QRadar, Devo, Swimlane, and Azure Sentinel to enhance platform security and automate workflows. • Collaboration & Solutioning: Work with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. • Platform Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve system performance, availability, and security. • Innovation & Exploration: Stay updated on emerging technologies and propose improvements to platform architecture and operations. Secondary Responsibilities: • Security Operations Support: Assist in security incident response and monitoring using integrated tools. • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure, configurations, and procedures. Required Skills & Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. • Experience: 5–6 years in IT infrastructure or platform engineering roles. • Linux Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu Linux—system management, security, and performance tuning. • Cloud Platforms: Solid experience with AWS and Azure—including networking, IAM, and service integration. • Release Management: Proven experience in managing patching, upgrades, and deployments. • Security Tools: Familiarity with SIEM/SOAR platforms like QRadar, Devo, Swimlane, Azure Sentinel. • DevOps & Agile: Experience working in Agile environments and applying DevOps practices for automation and CI/CD. • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Good to Have:
• Experience with Citrix VDI, Netscaler, and Fortinet firewalls. • Exposure to Tenable (vulnerability management) and Trend Micro (endpoint security). • Certifications such as: • AWS Certified Solutions Architect • Azure Solutions Architect Expert • Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE) or equivalent
