Project Role :Technology Support Engineer
Project Role Description :Resolve incidents and problems across multiple business system components and ensure operational stability. Create and implement Requests for Change (RFC) and update knowledge base articles to support effective troubleshooting. Collaborate with vendors and help service management teams with issue analysis and resolution.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and manage a team of Windows and VMware administrators.Drive operational excellence through process improvements, automation, and proactive monitoring.Assign, track, and review team deliverables across BAU, incidents, changes, and projects.Provide escalation support for high-severity incidents (P1/P2).Technical Expertise (SME)Act as the primary SME for Windows Server (20082022) and VMware vSphere/ESXi (6.x8.x) environments.Oversee patching, upgrades, lifecycle management, and compliance to eliminate EOL/EOS risks.Manage VMware vCenter, HA/DRS clusters, vSAN, vMotion, SRM/DR orchestration.Provide deep expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Windows Clustering.Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring infrastructure issues.Infrastructure Design & ProjectsLead design and implementation of new solutions in Windows and VMware domains.Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (cloud-hosted VMware, hybrid AD, Azure/AWS IaaS).Develop and maintain HLDs/LLDs, runbooks, and operational documentation.Ensure seamless integration with storage, backup, monitoring, and security platforms.Governance & ComplianceEnsure infrastructure is compliant with security baselines, OEM guidelines, and audit requirements.Drive patch compliance and vulnerability remediation.Maintain vendor relationships with Microsoft, VMware, and hardware OEMs.CollaborationPartner with application, cloud, and network teams for cross-domain initiatives.Work with PMO and stakeholders to define scope, timelines, and deliverables for infra projects.Participate in CAB meetings, change planning, and DR drills.________________________________________Required Skills & Experience810 years of experience in Windows Server & VMware Infrastructure administration and design.Proven experience leading or mentoring a technical team.Strong expertise in:oWindows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022, AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO.oVMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, HA/DRS, SRM, vSAN.oPatch/firmware lifecycle management and troubleshooting complex infra issues.Knowledge of scripting/automation (PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform preferred).Exposure to hybrid cloud (Azure/AWS) and migration projects.Familiarity with monitoring tools (vROps, Zabbix, Datadog, SCOM, etc.).Strong problem-solving, incident management, and RCA skills.________________________________________Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience with NSX, Horizon VDI, or Citrix.Knowledge of backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik).Understanding of FinOps/optimization strategies.ITIL Foundation certified (or higher).Microsoft / VMware certifications (MCSE, VCP-DCV, VCAP).
