Job Description

The Application Specialist position is part of the Technical/ Application Development team for India Sub Continent within the Industrial Solutions business.
  • Full-time position, focused on providing technical and application support to the industrial water treatment customers in India.
  • Geographic base : Mumbai/ Pune/ Delhi NCR
  • Will involve extensive travel : on an average 2 weeks a month
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will primarily focus on providing technical service/ application support to the Industrial Solutions customers across India.
The role will involve extensive visits to customer sites:
  • To monitor current conditions, understand customer needs and concerns/ challenges, if any
  • To identify key gaps and improvement opportunities with the current water treatment programs
  • To develop Solenis programs with a systematic approach that:
    • Will include appropriate product selections
    • will address current performance gaps/concerns
    • will deliver operational and sustainability savings
  • To define standards/ protocols, lead validation trials and gain customer approvals
  • To do periodic follow ups to ensure delivery of actual benefits (cost/performance) vs plan
As a water treatment expert, the incumbent will also be responsible to:
  • train and/or double work with the sales team on water & waste water treatment programs.
  • support sales teams for troubleshooting at customer sites
  • work closely with the sales, business development, marketing and R&D teams to streamline product offers, to develop savings calculators and to create value propositions for existing/ new products
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS
  • A technical (engineering/ science) background is essential
  • 10-12 years of technical service/ application development experience in the industrial water treatment chemicals industry
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability and aptitude to build relationships
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to build total cost of operations (TCO) savings calculator
  • Willing to travel extensively, at least 2 weeks every month
