Software Engineer (C Developer)

As a Developer at Amdocs, you will work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Your strong knowledge of C# technologies, as well as debugging code, is a must-have. You will demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and network with senior internal and external personnel in your own area of expertise. Your responsibilities will include: - Expert level C# knowledge and debugging. - Helping keep C# libraries in sync by porting code from C# or vice versa. - Extending runtime C# libraries with new functionality. - Having C# Fundamentals expertise with hands-on experience. - Assisting in creating custom plugins for existing tools. - Having an in-depth understanding of object-oriented concepts. - Working in both Java and C# (50%-50%). - Delivering within the scope of the project and a Factory project without compromising on quality. - Working closely with team members and clients to achieve desired results. - Mentoring junior team members on Mainframe migration. - Identifying and bridging the knowledge gap among team members from different backgrounds. - Profiling the migrated application to detect any performance problems and improvements in the C# code or in the support libraries used. - Having expert database development knowledge including SQL development, understanding of database concepts, ability to create/maintain database objects, query tuning, and database locking. - Learning the Astadia Factory tools to perform mainframe transformations. - Utilizing experience in unit testing, test-driven development, integration testing, and deployment using cloud technologies. - Having experience in Scripts/Python development. Qualifications required for this role: - BE in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. - 5+ Years of Development professional experience in .NET/C#. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Understanding of differences between .NET Framework and .NET (core), C# 8-13. - Interest in learning about legacy technologies. - Certifications in any cloud technologies. - Experience with Waterfall and Agile Development Methodologies. - Strong object-oriented programming and debugging skills. - Willingness to learn Mainframe Technologies (COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, etc).
