As a Wireless Network SRE at BayRock Labs, your responsibilities include: - Owning and maintaining the operational aspect of the wireless infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability. - Collaborating with architecture, tooling, and deployment teams to ensure new implementations align with production standards. - Advocating for and implementing automation to enhance operational efficiency. - Monitoring network performance, identifying areas for improvement, and coordinating with relevant teams to execute enhancements. - Educating the network support team and collaborating with SMEs to resolve production issues swiftly. - Identifying opportunities for operational improvements and partnering with teams to drive excellence and sustainability in network operations. Qualifications required for the role: - Educational Background: BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years of industry experience in wireless site reliability engineering or related areas. - Wireless Protocols and Standards: Expert-level knowledge in wireless technologies such as 802.11ac and 802.11ax, WPA, Radius, EAP, 802.1X. - Wireless Access Points and Controllers: Strong familiarity with WLAN controllers, especially Mist. - RF Design and Troubleshooting: Understanding RF fundamentals, site surveys, spectrum analysis, and interference mitigation. - Network Skills: Expertise in general network technologies such as TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, VPN, L2 switching. - Programming and Scripting Skills: Experience in Python, Perl, Bash. - Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with network management tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager. - System Administration: Knowledge of Linux system fundamentals is a plus. - Problem-Solving and Communication: Systematic problem-solving approach, excellent communication skills, and a sense of ownership and drive. Stand out by showcasing: - Support Automation skills using SNMP, Syslog, synthetics to solve operational challenges. - Code Optimization abilities for debugging and automating routine tasks. - Platform Exposure with Mellanox/Cumulus Linux, Mist Wireless, Cisco Wireless. - Security Awareness in WLAN components such as ISE. - Previous SRE experience.
