Job Description

Qualifications:

Education: BE/ B.Tech in Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering

Experience: Min. 10 years of PLC/HMI programming experience with Process control systems.

Responsibilities:

The Controls Engineer will be responsible for control system design and programming for fuel cell technology. This position requires flexibility to work on multiple projects, covering a range of systems and technologies, in various stages of the design, construction, and validation.

•Develops PLC/HMI Software for new and existing control systems.

•Design, develop, optimize and implement advanced process controls within PLC/HMI to enhance productivity, efficiency, and safety ensuring compliance with Industry standards, safety regulations and best practices in process control engineering.

•Investigate control system anomalies, identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions by developing and modifying control algorithms using various programming languages and software tools

•Selects suitable Controls System Components.

•Configure and test new and modified fuel cell controls sub-systems and Integrated Control System to ensure proper functionality and validate their suitability.

•Selects suitable Instrumentations and Field Actuators considering operational variation

•Performs I/O loop checks on new controls systems and retrofitted existing Control systems.

•Prepares and maintains Engineering design documentation for control systems.

•Supports troubleshooting and resolution of I&C-related Field Issues

•Provide system commissioning and operational support.

•Mentors team members sharing technical knowledge.

•Work on-call (rotation) as required.

•Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Characteristics:

•Experience with PLCs, including hardware configuration, Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and User Defined Function Blocks.

•Experience with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).

•Basic understanding of industrial networks

•Familiar with P&IDs, PFDs, Logic Diagrams, Instrument Loop Diagrams.

•Ability to work with Electrical Engineering to develop electrical drawings and documentation (e.g. Single Line, Three Line, Wiring & Interconnect Drawings)

•HAZOP,SIL, FMEA, DFSS, electrochemistry experience desired.

•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

•Excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively with others, both internally and externally.

•Team player who works willingly with others and keeps a positive, goal-focused outlook when tackling challenging, time-sensitive engineering problems.

•Flexible and adaptable to rapidly shift gears into multi-disciplinary roles based on current project requirements.

Working Environment/Working Conditions:

•Must be able to work physically in the office environment, lab environment and in the field

•International. Travel: up to 10%-20 %
