Job Description

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

Lead, manage, and mentor a team of engineers and technicians to design, develop, and test electronic prototypes.

Ensure lab resources, including equipment, tools, and personnel, are effectively allocated and optimized.

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the lab.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product design, software, and manufacturing to ensure seamless integration of prototypes into final products.

Prototype Development

Oversee the design, testing, and iteration of electronic prototypes More specifically box builds & Battery pack, ensuring they meet design specifications and performance criteria.

Project Management

Define clear project milestones, timelines, and deliverables, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Track and report on prototype development progress, risks, and outcomes to senior management.

Ensure efficient workflow within the lab, balancing the development of multiple concurrent projects.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

Ensure all prototypes meet the required regulatory and industry standards.

Oversee the documentation of prototypes, including design schematics, test plans, results, and failure analysis.

Lead the validation and verification of prototypes to ensure reliability and manufacturability at scale.

Skillset :

Functional competency:

In-depth knowledge of Prototyping, Build & Commissioning of Electrical & Electronics systems

Low Speed Embedded Hardware: BCU, BMS

High Speed Embedded Hardware: Vehicle Infotainment Controller, PKE

Power Electronics: DCDC, OBC, FC, Inverter, Transmission Control Unit

LV Electrical Systems: Wiring harness, Lighting system, Sensors, Actuators, Switches & controls Expertise in Build, Build quality, Assembly procedures. Commissioning procedures, Root Cause Analysis for the problems and resolution of the problems faced in the aforesaid Systems and component

Expertise in Build, Build quality, Assembly procedures, commissioning procedures of Electric Two-wheeler.

Expertise in building wiring harness prototypes and for limited production.

Good knowledge in prototyping for development of test fixtures and calibration fixtures & equipment.

Good knowledge in Electric Vehicle systems and Two-wheeler Electrical systems - Electrical, Electronics Architectures, Standards and Regulatory requirements.

Good understanding of motorcycle Electrical & Electronics layout.

General

Ability to communicate complex ideas seamlessly and persuasively to peers, management, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.

Good technical leadership, planning & organisation skills in relevant areas.

Good team collaboration and interpersonal skills.

Ability to build force multipliers and mentoring young engineers.

Excellent risk management skills, experienced in performing trade space analysis and weighting safety against availability / allocation.

Strong analytical, logical reasoning & problem-solving skills.

Strong decision maker, even with limited information - able to verify / validate the assumptions made in the decision-making process.

Effective Communication to be able to deal with cross functional team members - Marketing, Design, Hardware, Software, Vehicle systems & Validation.

Fluent in communication - Written and Spoken English.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in electronic design, prototyping, and testing.

At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing engineering teams in a prototype development environment.

Proven track record of successfully delivering electronic prototypes and products from concept to production.

Experience with CAD software, simulation tools, and prototyping techniques (e.g., PCB design, 3D printing, etc.).

Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance practices in electronics. Education:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
