Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in AWS infrastructure, especially in cost optimization, and hands-on experience with ECS, ECR, and serverless architectures.

You will play a critical role in architecting scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud environments, collaborating closely with development, QA, and product teams to improve deployment workflows, observability, and platform performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize AWS costs across all environments by analyzing usage patterns, implementing right-sizing strategies, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and identifying waste.
• Architect and maintain scalable infrastructure using Amazon ECS (Fargate/EC2), ECR, Lambda, and other AWS serverless services.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, Jenkins, or similar.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Enhance system observability and reliability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar tools.
• Monitor and improve system performance, availability, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define DevOps standards, best practices, and drive adoption across the organization.
• Support disaster recovery planning, automated backups, and environment consistency.
• Stay up to date with new AWS services and trends in the DevOps ecosystem.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
• Proven experience with AWS services and a strong understanding of cloud-native architectures.
• Solid experience with ECS (Fargate and EC2), ECR, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and other serverless components.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement cost-saving strategies in AWS environments.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Node.js.
• Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration, with experience in Docker and ECS/Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and modern deployment practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS), ArgoCD, or Helm.
• Familiarity with FinOps frameworks or tools (e.g., CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer, CloudZero).
• Prior experience working in a fast-paced startup or SaaS environment.
