Senior API Developer

As an API Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure APIs. Your role will involve working on dynamic query building and optimization to ensure performance and reliability. Collaboration with frontend, backend, and data teams is essential to ensure smooth data integration. You will be expected to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex API issues while adhering to best practices for performance, security, and scalability. Participation in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions is also a key aspect of this role. To excel in this position, you should have at least 5 years of experience in API development and possess strong coding fundamentals with the ability to work on complex dynamic queries. Proficiency in Ruby is preferred, though candidates with a strong Java background and proven adaptability will also be considered. A solid understanding of RESTful API design principles, experience with SQL/relational databases, and knowledge of API authentication & authorization are required. Hands-on experience with performance optimization, debugging, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) is crucial. Experience with GraphQL or other API architectures, familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), exposure to monitoring & logging tools for APIs, and previous involvement in high-availability, data-heavy applications are considered advantageous.
