Job Description

Position: Section Head – Environment (USO Line 2)

Designation: Assistant Manager - Manager

Function: Manufacturing - EHS

Place: Umrongso, Assam

Credentials: Graduate - Environmental Engineering or Graduate / Post Graduate - Environmental Science

Responsibilities:

•To lead and manage all environmental management and compliance activities of the Unit, ensuring adherence to statutory regulations & organizational sustainability goals

•Responsible for effective pollution control, waste management, resource conservation, and continual improvement in environmental performance for the Unit

•Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws, rules & consent conditions issued by SPCB, CPCB, MoEF&CC etc

•Ensure continuous monitoring of stack emissions, ambient air quality, water quality, and noise levels through NABL-accredited labs

•Monitor continuous emission data and coordinate with E&I Team to ensure timely and accurate data flow to CPCB / SPCB

•Responsible for EPR Credit Generation & compliance

•Oversee operation and maintenance of key pollution control equipment’s (Bag filters, ESPs etc.)

•Implement effective solid waste and hazardous waste management systems at the Unit as per environmental norms and organizational guidelines

•Ensure safe disposal and co-processing of wastes as per statutory norms

•Coordinate with process & maintenance to minimize dust / emissions during operations and material handling

•Responsible for preparation and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual return / reports to SPCB/CPCB and corporate environment cell

•Support internal and external environmental audits and inspections

•Drive initiatives for water conservation, energy efficiency, green belt development, and carbon footprint reduction

•Responsible for promotion on environmental awareness and sustainability culture among employees, staff and workmen

•Support initiatives for alternate fuel and raw material (AFR) utilization

•Liaise with government agencies (SPCB, CPCB, MoEF&CC) and other local authorities as required for environmental clearances and renewals

•Coordinate with corporate environment and sustainability teams for policy implementation and audits
