Job Description

Key Responsibilities:


Quantity Surveying:

Measure and quantify materials, labor, and other resources required for interior design projects.
Conduct site visits to verify measurements and ensure accuracy of material estimations.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates based on design blueprints and specifications.
Keep up-to-date with market rates for materials and labor.

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

Develop accurate project budgets and ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide cost comparisons for different materials and finishes to assist the design team in decision-making.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Billing:

Prepare interim and final bills for clients, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
Cross-check contractors bills and validate measurements and work completed before processing payments.
Reconcile project budgets and actual expenditures periodically.

Vendor Coordination:

Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials within budget.
Evaluate and negotiate rates with contractors and suppliers.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain comprehensive records of all quantity and billing-related documentation.
Provide regular financial progress reports to management and stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory standards.

Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, interior designers, and architects to align financial and design objectives.
Assist the procurement team in sourcing quality materials within budget.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying and billing, preferably in an interior design or construction environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, project management tools).
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Knowledge of interior design materials, finishes, and their cost implications.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Preferred Attributes
  • Familiarity with interior design workflows and project lifecycles.
  • Knowledge of regional market rates for materials and labor.
  • Certification in cost estimation or quantity surveying (preferred but not mandatory).
