Job Description

Role Overview: Join Ampere as a part of the Emulation Team, where you will contribute to the verification of the next generation of microprocessor cores on a hardware emulation platform. Your role will involve developing and deploying new capabilities and test content to accelerate bug finding in pre-silicon. You will play a key part in building AmpereOne Aurora, a revolutionary AI compute solution combining high-performance general-purpose CPUs with integrated AI capabilities. Key Responsibilities: - Be part of the emulation verification execution team, responsible for planning, developing, and executing test content in various domains such as system stress, cache coherency, and concurrency. - Collaborate with design and architecture teams to identify and resolve failures using advanced debugging techniques. - Develop high-quality emulation test plans with BareMetal content and OS-based content to detect even the most corner-case bugs. - Create emulation models from RTL to run test content using industry-standard emulation platform technology. - Develop or integrate high-performance transactors and emulation test bench in System Verilog, SystemC/C++, and Python. - Review architecture and microarchitecture specs to influence design decisions. - Mentor junior team members and contribute to their technical growth. - Partner with emulation vendor to debug and resolve blocking issues in the emulation technology. Qualification Required: - M.Tech in Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering with 6+ years of semiconductor experience, or B.Tech in Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering with 8+ years of semiconductor experience. - Knowledge of Cache coherency models, memory consistency models in AArch64 and/or x86. - Familiarity with coherent interconnect protocols like AMBA CHI, AXI4, ACE, etc. Experience with PCIE and DDR technology is a plus. - Experience in developing bare-metal content using C/C++ and assembly language for verification, preferably with ARM assembly expertise. - Experience in performance verification of coherent fabrics and cores is advantageous. - Proficiency in debugging failures using innovative practices and tools like Verdi. Working knowledge of emulation technology like Zebu, Palladium, or Mentor Veloce is recommended. - Experience in GPU/AI verification is preferred. - Self-motivated engineer with a passion for innovation and demonstrated out-of-the-box thinking.
