Job Description

Job Summary:

BI Developer

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance reporting and analytics solutions that drive data-driven decision-making across enterprise stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain interactive, scalable, and high-performance
Power BI dashboards and reports
for business users across multiple domains.
Write complex, optimized
SQL queries
for data extraction, transformation, and aggregation from relational and non-relational databases (Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
Collaborate with data engineers and architects to build and optimize
data pipelines
using
Azure Data Factory (ADF)
and
Databricks
for large-scale data processing.
Develop and maintain
semantic models (star schema, snowflake schema)
and implement
DAX measures
for accurate business logic representation.
Perform
data quality checks
, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting of data inconsistencies across sources and reports.
Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and deliver actionable insights.
Optimize report performance through query tuning, data modeling best practices, and efficient use of aggregations and caching.
Implement
row-level security (RLS)
and
dynamic filtering
to ensure data governance and compliance.
Contribute to
CI/CD pipelines
using
Azure DevOps
for version control, testing, and deployment of Power BI artifacts.
Support
data governance
initiatives including metadata management, lineage tracking, and documentation using tools like
Azure Purview
.

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years of experience
in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related roles.
Expertise in Power BI
(including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, performance optimization, and deployment strategies).
Strong SQL proficiency
ability to write complex queries, optimize performance, and work with large datasets.
Hands-on experience with
Azure Data Factory (ADF)
for ETL/ELT orchestration.
Experience with
Azure Synapse Analytics
,
Azure SQL
, or
Azure Data Warehouse
.
Familiarity with
cloud data platforms
– especially
Azure Databricks
(good-to-have).
Understanding of
data warehousing concepts
(dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas).
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments with strong collaboration and communication skills.
Knowledge of
data governance, security, and compliance
(e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001/27701) is a plus.
