Oracle Financial Functional Consultant

Role & responsibilities

Handle production issues in Oracle Financial modules (AP, AR, GL, FA, CM).

Troubleshoot Payables transactions stuck in interface or not transferred to GL.

Support journal entry and data entry issues for finance users.

Analyze and resolve issues with journals showing In Progress approval status.

Manage unbalanced journal entries and ensure accounting integrity.

Resolve issues related to debit/credit mismatches and accounting period closing/opening.

Configure or modify menus and functions based on user roles and access requirements.

Support tax calculation changes and validate impact on financial postings.

Participate in new setups.

Assist in new report requirements from Finance.

Coordinate with Oracle Support (SRs) for bug fixes, patches, and product issues.

Conduct end-user training and prepare training and functional documentation.

Ensure data completeness and accuracy in financial reports.

Preferred candidate profile

10 years of experience as an Oracle Financial Functional Consultant.

Strong hands-on experience in modules: GL, AP, AR, FA, CM.

Good understanding of subledger accounting (SLA) and accounting flow to GL.

Familiar with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Knowledge of Tax (e.g., VAT, GST) configuration in Oracle.

Experience in requirement gathering, documentation, and user training.

Ability to work with technical teams for reports/forms customization.
