Job Summary :-

We are seeking an 5+ Years experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Consultant to manage and optimize Oracle database environments deployed within Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle database technologies and hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical databases.

Key Responsibilities :-

  • Manage and support Oracle databases (version 11g/12c/18c/19c), ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Perform database provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Implement and manage database security policies, including user access control, encryption, and auditing.
  • Plan and execute database migrations, cloning, and replication.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database systems in AWS environments (EC2, RDS, or custom deployments).
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery using AWS services such as RDS Multi-AZ, EC2 with Oracle Data Guard, and backup strategies.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize resource utilization.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) and AWS tools (e.g., Lambda, CloudFormation).
  • Implement and manage database security policies, including encryption, access control, and auditing.
  • Collaborate with application teams to support development, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Perform regular backups and recovery testing using AWS Backup, snapshots, and native Oracle tools.
  • Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for database-related issues.
  • Comply with the ITSM process for Incident, Request, Change Management, others.
  • Conduct disaster recovery testing and ensure data integrity during recovery processes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and technical staff.

Requires Skills and Qualifications :-

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and VPC.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, and security.
  • Experience with database migration tools and strategies (e.g., RMAN, Data Pump, AWS DMS).
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages (Shell, Python).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
