Job Description

Role Summary

NOC Security & Backup/Disaster Recovery Engineer


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 

    first-level 24x7x365 escalation support

    for OneMind and its customers.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain 

    network, server, and storage infrastructure

    using tools such as 

    ManageEngine OPMAN, Zabbix, Elastic, Sophos, O365

    and 

    Halo PSA

    .
  • Answer customer calls and deliver a high level of 

    technical support and customer service

    .
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across 

    Windows, Unix, and Linux environments

    .
  • Configure, operate, and upgrade 

    routers, switches, and firewalls

    , including IOS upgrades.
  • Maintain and optimize 

    network protocols

    (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Routing: Static, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP; Switching: VLAN, VTP, STP, EtherChannel, HSRP/VRRP, Port Security).
  • Administer and monitor 

    enterprise backup solutions

    (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, or equivalent).
  • Execute, test, and document 

    backup and disaster recovery (DR) plans

    , ensuring compliance with defined RTO/RPO objectives.
  • Conduct 

    backup integrity checks

    and perform periodic test restores to validate disaster recovery readiness.
  • Monitor 

    storage performance, replication, and capacity

    to ensure optimal uptime.
  • Respond to and escalate 

    security incidents

    in line with NOC processes and security policies.
  • Use remote administration tools (

    Terminal Server, Remote Desktop, Telnet, SSH

    ) to diagnose and remediate issues.
  • Create detailed documentation of 

    calls, incidents, backup logs, and system changes

    .


Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong technical knowledge of 

    networking, operating systems, and storage infrastructure

    .
  • Proficiency in 

    IP networking fundamentals

    (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, TFTP, FTP).
  • Experience with 

    enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions

    .
  • Familiarity with 

    network security principles

    and incident response practices.
  • Ability to 

    monitor performance metrics

    and recommend improvements.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for 

    hardware, software, and network issues

    .
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

    or higher certification.
  • Certification in 

    Backup & Disaster Recovery

    or 

    Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

    preferred.
  • Experience with 

    storage replication technologies

    and high-availability solutions.
  • Prior experience in a 

    Network Operations Center (NOC)

    environment with 1-3 years of experience.
  • Willingness to participate in 

    on-call rotations

    and respond to emergencies promptly.
