Description
As the overseer of multiple teams, your primary role will involve supervising the design, development, and testing of intricate data warehouse extracts and reports to cater to the data and reporting necessities of various internal client groups. Your responsibilities will include managing teams that generate and provide vital business information to operations and upper management regularly. This support is crucial for departments such as Web and Interactive Marketing, World Wide Sales, Reservations and Customer Care, Channel Integration, Americas Sales and Finance, Loyalty Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Revenue Management. You will collaborate with the Information Technology function, Distribution and Relationship Marketing, and Global Sales and Marketing functions to devise and execute data and reporting solutions. Additionally, you will be responsible for nurturing relationships with all stakeholders mentioned and facilitating the decision-making process by furnishing precise and timely decision support data. You will serve as the primary contact person for internal client management across various departments such as Web and Interactive Marketing, World Wide Sales, Reservations and Customer Care, Channel Integration, Americas Sales and Finance, Loyalty Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Revenue Management. Your tasks will involve creating highly intricate data extracts using SQL while ensuring compliance with specified business and technical requirements. It is vital to maintain strong relationships with DRM/GSM management and acquire in-depth knowledge of the objectives of all business functional areas to accurately translate client requirements into technical specifications and reporting mechanisms. You will be required to develop project plans delineating project milestones for different Business Analytics projects and convene cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. Providing ad hoc query support to all Business Analytics clients and applying analytical techniques to diverse disciplines will also be part of your responsibilities. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experiences: - Proficient computing and database reporting skills. - Solid programming experience with statistical and database software such as SQL Server, SAS, Business Objects, and RDBMS. - Familiarity with Visual Basic scripting techniques. - Competence in Microsoft Access and Excel functionality, including the use of macros for report-publishing streamlining. - Experience in decision-support and data warehousing environments. - Project management experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects. - Understanding of business analysis processes and internal clients" processes. - Knowledge of hotel operations and the hotel industry, along with the ability to access relevant information and comprehend the competitive market. - Effective communication skills, adapting technical verbal and written communication to suit the needs and understanding of the user. Qualifications required for this role include a Bachelor's or Master's Degree with a concentration in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Marketing, or a related field of study. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience is acceptable. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of progressive work experience within a business intelligence team, working with relational decision-support databases and analytical consulting. Proficiency and understanding in one or more functions related to the role, preferably in a management position, are essential.
