Lead - Backend Developer

As a Lead Backend Developer at AVYRO, you will have the opportunity to shape the future by architecting, building, and owning core backend services using Node.js. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing REST and/or GraphQL APIs, message-based systems, real-time endpoints, and background jobs to drive product functionality. - Choosing and defining the tech stack, modular architecture, component libraries, team coding standards, and testing strategy. - Collaborating closely with frontend teams and UX/UI designers to ensure synchronization between backend and UI. - Leading, mentoring, and growing a lean backend team through code reviews, architectural discussions, and promoting best practices. - Ensuring performance, fault-tolerance, scalability, and observability in deployment patterns, monitoring, logging, error-handling, and production robustness. - Working with data teams, DevOps/infrastructure, product & design to implement AI/data-driven features, pipelines, and third-party integrations. - Continuously evaluating new technologies, frameworks, and patterns to drive innovation. - Documenting architecture, decisions, APIs, and system flows for maintainability and developer velocity. You should have: - A strong senior background (4+ years or more) in building backend systems with Node.js and related web technologies. - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and an ops mindset. - Expertise in web app performance, scalability, backend integration, REST APIs, and Git workflows. - A collaborative, proactive, and mentorship-oriented approach. - A Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering, preferably from a top-tier college. - Bonus points for experience in the AEC industry or AI/ML adjacent projects and a startup mindset.
